L’Oréal, the global beauty and personal care giant, has appointed Jacques Lebel as India Country Manager, effective October 1, 2025. Lebel will succeed Aseem Kaushik, who takes over as Chairman of L’Oréal India, marking a significant leadership transition for the company in one of its most dynamic markets.
In his new role, Kaushik will focus on bolstering corporate reputation, public affairs, stakeholder engagement, and CSR initiatives, underlining L’Oréal’s long-term commitment to India’s evolving business and socio-economic landscape.
Lebel, who currently serves as Director General, L’Oréal Consumer Products Mexico, brings rich global experience to the Indian market. He began his career with L’Oréal as a junior project manager and rose through the ranks before gaining further leadership experience at Procter & Gamble and later at AB InBev, where he served as Country Director for France.
Kaushik, a L’Oréal veteran of 27 years, has held key leadership roles across the Consumer Products and Professional Products Divisions in India. He is widely credited for helping shape the modern salon industry in India and for building a robust and sustainable business model for the company’s professional segment.
India remains a strategic growth market for L’Oréal. In FY25, L’Oréal India posted a 14% increase in sales, reaching ₹5,685 crore, with a net profit of ₹488 crore, reflecting strong performance across its portfolio, which includes brands like Maybelline New York, Garnier, and L’Oréal Paris.
This leadership shift reflects L’Oréal’s dual focus on accelerating business growth and enhancing its societal footprint in the Indian subcontinent.
