Responding to the industry stakeholders' demands, the Ministry of Textiles has made a significant decision to reopen the PLI (Production Linked Incentive) Portal. The reopening of the portal, scheduled until 31st August 2023, aims to invite applications from interested companies under the PLI scheme of Textiles. This extension provides an opportunity for companies engaged in MMF (Man-Made Fibre) Apparel, MMF Fabrics, and products of Technical Textiles to participate in the scheme and avail the benefits offered by the government.
The Ministry of Textiles, recognizing the importance of supporting the textile industry and promoting domestic manufacturing, has made a proactive move by reopening the PLI Portal. The decision comes as a response to the requests and feedback received from industry stakeholders who expressed their interest in participating in the PLI scheme for Textiles.
The PLI scheme, introduced by the government, aims to boost the manufacturing capabilities of the textile sector and enhance its global competitiveness. Under the scheme, eligible companies receive incentives based on their incremental sales of specified textile products.
With the reopening of the PLI Portal, companies engaged in MMF Apparel, MMF Fabrics, and products of Technical Textiles now have another opportunity to participate in the scheme. Interested companies can submit their applications through the portal until 31st August 2023, allowing them to benefit from the incentives and support offered by the government.
The decision to extend the application window showcases the government's commitment to providing equal opportunities for all eligible textile companies. By encouraging their participation, the Ministry of Textiles aims to promote the growth and development of the textile industry while creating a conducive environment for domestic manufacturing.
