TEXTILE SEMINAR NATIONAL

In a significant prelude to the Vibrant Gujarat Summit scheduled for January 2024, Union Minister for Textiles, Commerce and Industry, Consumer Affairs, Piyush Goyal, is set to inaugurate a seminar focusing on the textile and apparel sector. The event, meticulously organized by the state industries department, is slated to take place at the international exhibition-cum-convention centre of the Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI) in Sarsana, Surat, on November 23.
Surat District Collector Ayush Oak highlighted the event's importance, stating, "As a crucial component of the upcoming Vibrant Gujarat Summit in Gandhinagar, the state government has arranged a pre-Vibrant Gujarat seminar, specifically centered on the textile and apparel sector." The seminar, supported by esteemed partners such as ASSOCHAM, CII, FICCI, and SGCCI, aims to bring together more than 550 industry stakeholders.
Experts participating in the seminar will delve into the "five F's - Farm, Fibre, Fabric, Fashion, and Foreign," presenting a future vision for textiles in a developed India by the year 2047.
The day-long seminar, commencing at 9:30 am, will be divided into three sessions. ASSOCHAM Chairman Sohel Nathwani is scheduled to speak on the role of Gujarat's textiles in contributing to a developed India, setting the stage for subsequent discussions.
In addition to Piyush Goyal, the event is expected to draw attendance from other distinguished guests, including Union MoS for Textiles and Railways, Darshana Jardosh; Gujarat MoS for Home Harsh Sanghavi, and State Industries Minister Balwantsinh Rajput.
The seminar promises to offer valuable insights and discussions on the future trajectory of Gujarat's textile and apparel sector, aligning with the broader goals of the Vibrant Gujarat initiative.
