In a strategic meeting with Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at Naveen Niwas, Mahesh Amalean, Chairman of MAS Holdings, expressed a strong interest in establishing a state-of-the-art textile manufacturing unit in Odisha. The Chairman presented the extensive portfolio of MAS Holdings during the discussion, emphasizing the potential for substantial investment and employment opportunities in the region.
"The proposed integrated textile and apparel manufacturing facility in Odisha has the capacity to generate employment for over 5,000 individuals," stated Mahesh Amalean.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik assured full government support for the project, committing to provide necessary land and facilitating collaborations to establish crucial components such as supply chain infrastructure and skill development centers. The prospective location for the apparel company's unit is Khurda, and the government plans to extend support in terms of skilling initiatives and overall industrial ecosystem development.
5-T Chairman VK Pandian was also present during the meeting, highlighting the collaborative efforts between MAS Holdings and the government of Odisha. MAS Holdings, headquartered in Sri Lanka, is a global apparel conglomerate with 53 manufacturing units across 16 countries, employing approximately one lakh people. With design and development hubs in key global cities, the company serves renowned brands such as Nike, Decathlon, Jockey, Calvin Klein, Marks & Spencer, and more.
