Rachna Shah, Secretary of the Ministry of Textiles, has declared Bharat Tex 2024 as India's most expansive textile event, poised to showcase the nation's prowess in the global textile arena. Spanning over 22 lakh sq ft across two prestigious venues, Bharat Mandapam and Yashobhoomi, the event promises to be a convergence of innovation, collaboration, and the 'Make in India' spirit, in line with Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision.
Scheduled to commence today, February 26, Bharat Tex 2024 will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, symbolizing the government's commitment to promoting India's textile sector on the global stage. With participation from over 100 countries, 3500+ exhibitors, and an expected footfall of 40,000+ visitors, the event is set to be the pinnacle of the textile industry, showcasing the entire value chain from farm to fashion.
Organized by a consortium of 11 Textile Export Promotion Councils and supported by the Ministry of Textiles, Bharat Tex is strategically structured around the twin pillars of trade and investment, with a strong emphasis on sustainability and resilient supply chains. Over four days, the event will unravel a tapestry of tradition and technology, attracting policymakers, global CEOs, exhibitors, buyers, and trade visitors from across the globe.
Inspired by Prime Minister Modi's 5F Vision - Farm to Fibre to Factory to Fashion to Foreign, Bharat Tex 2024 embodies a unified focus on the entire textile value chain. With exhibits ranging from apparel and home furnishings to technical textiles and handicrafts, the event will also feature dedicated pavilions on sustainability and recycling, showcasing real-world initiatives by industry players and clusters like Panipat, Tirupur, and Surat.
Highlighting India's rich textile heritage, Bharat Tex will host over 10 fashion shows and art demonstrations, showcasing global fashion trends and master craftsmanship. Additionally, a global-scale conference with 350 speakers will deliberate on issues and challenges faced by the textiles industry, with a significant focus on sustainability and India's strengths in global textiles.
The event will also witness the launch of the Textiles Grand Innovation Challenge, aimed at harnessing untapped innovation opportunities in India's textiles and apparel industry. With leading global textile companies and business delegations from key textile hubs participating, Bharat Tex 2024 represents a collaborative effort among stakeholders across the entire value chain.
Partnerships with major textile bodies and enthusiastic participation from textile-rich states like Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Tamil Nadu further underscore the event's significance in positioning India as a global powerhouse in textiles.
Bharat Tex 2024 not only marks a milestone in India's textile journey but also sets the stage for a sustainable and vibrant future for the industry.
