Kyocera Corporation has introduced its latest sustainable innovation, the "FOREARTH" inkjet textile printer, aimed at addressing environmental concerns in the textile and apparel industry. This groundbreaking printer drastically reduces water usage for textile printing, effectively minimizing water pollution and promoting eco-friendly practices. To coincide with World Water Day 2024, Kyocera has launched the 'TRUE BLUE TEXTILE' project, centered around the concept of 'Wear to Save Water' fashion.
The 'TRUE BLUE TEXTILE' initiative encourages consumers to raise awareness about environmental issues by opting for sustainable fashion choices. Fabric for this project was printed using Kyocera's FOREARTH printer, employing a water-free concept. The printer features patterns inspired by the pristine Niyodo River in Kochi Prefecture, renowned for its exceptional water quality.
Partnering with ANREALAGE and the Vantan Design Institute, Kyocera has produced five outfits as part of the project. ANREALAGE, led by Kunihiko Morinaga, and the Vantan Design Institute, known for nurturing globally recognized designers, have embraced the project's objectives.
The 'TRUE BLUE TEXTILE' project addresses critical environmental challenges faced by the textile and apparel industry. Traditional dyeing processes have historically consumed significant amounts of water, contributing to water pollution and environmental degradation. Kyocera's FOREARTH inkjet textile printer represents a technological breakthrough, minimizing water usage while maintaining printing speed and quality.
Through the 'TRUE BLUE TEXTILE' project, Kyocera aims to prompt individuals to consider the impact of their clothing choices on water conservation.
