NARS has enlisted celebrities Ciara, Camila Morrone, and Pom Klementieff as brand ambassadors to celebrate its 30th anniversary. This A-list trio will lead the new Explicit Lipstick collection and campaign, a modern reinterpretation of the brand’s first lipstick product, which debuted in 1994.
Ciara, a singer-songwriter with over 23 million records sold worldwide, is among the chosen faces. Actress Klementieff is known for her role in the Marvel franchise Guardians of the Galaxy, while Morrone is best recognized for her performance in the Amazon TV series Daisy Jones and the Six. According to a statement from Shiseido-owned NARS, all three were selected for being "modern-day provocateurs."
"They are three parts of the same whole – an expression that evokes classic glamour and polished confidence, with an uncanny ability to incite seduction," the statement added. The Explicit Lipstick collection, crafted by NARS founder and Creative Director François Nars, marks a significant milestone for the brand.
The 36-shade collection is a contemporary twist on the original lipstick, featuring a precision-tip bullet designed to deliver medium-to-full coverage with a satin finish. Each celebrity embodies the essence of their chosen shade in the campaign.
Ciara dons the bright red Unauthorized 863, described by the brand as embodying a bold, unapologetic attitude. Morrone captures the spirit of the rule-breaking brown shade Liaison 821, while Klementieff evokes "a love affair gone astray" with the deep red Rendez-vous 805.
