Auréa, the growth capital firm co-founded by Mike Jatania and Paul Raphaël, has announced the successful acquisition of The Body Shop. This strategic investment underscores Auréa’s commitment to supporting purpose-driven and distinctive brands in the beauty, wellness, and longevity sectors, marking its largest transaction to date.
Founded in 1976, The Body Shop is renowned for its high-quality, innovation-led products across skincare, body care, haircare, and make-up, all made with natural, fairly traded ingredients sourced globally.
Mike Jatania and Charles Denton will step in as Executive Chairman and CEO, respectively, to lead The Body Shop’s revitalization and reclaim its global leadership in the ethical beauty sector it pioneered. Both Jatania and Denton bring extensive experience and a proven track record in transforming heritage brands into thriving, sustainable businesses.
Auréa plans to leverage its investment expertise, deep industry knowledge, and operational acumen to rejuvenate The Body Shop while honoring the brand’s heritage and values that resonate with its global customer base.
