In a significant move towards expanding its retail presence, iconic menswear brand Reid & Taylor has announced the opening of four new Shop-in-Shop (SIS) stores within Shoppers Stop outlets across India. The new stores are strategically located in Andheri (Mumbai), Magarpatta (Pune) Seasons Mall, Begumpet (Hyderabad), and Vijayawada (Andhra Pradesh), marking the brand's commitment to increasing its physical retail footprint across the country.
The latest development is part of a broader retail expansion plan led by Subrata Siddhanta, CEO of Apparel & Retail at Reid & Taylor Apparel, alongside Amit Gundawar, COO.Siddhanta shared the brand's vision in an exclusive interview with Gurbir Singh Gulati, Editor-in-Chief at IFAB Media.
The CEO outlined Reid & Taylor’s dynamic strategy, emphasizing their focus on reaching new milestones before the upcoming season."Our retail expansion is progressing rapidly," said Siddhanta. "In the coming months, we will be partnering with several leading national department stores, and their names will be announced soon."
One of the most exciting aspects of Reid & Taylor’s expansion is their imminent entry into digital commerce. “Another big news is that Reid & Taylor will soon be available in the e-commerce space. We are actively working on setting up our website, and we aim to have it live before the end of the year,” revealed Siddhanta. “In addition to our own site, we will be launching on Myntra by next month.”
The company’s Exclusive Brand Outlets (EBOs) currently boast 13 stores across India, including high street locations and malls. In a notable experiment, Reid & Taylor introduced a unique fabric and apparel mix at their store in Vadodara (Alkapuri), Gujarat, which has yielded positive results. "We’ve been exploring four different retail formats for Reid & Taylor in just six months. The response has been very encouraging,” Siddhanta noted.
Looking ahead, Reid & Taylor is aiming high, with a goal of achieving 150 stores as quickly as possible. “The game is on,” Siddhanta remarked confidently. “We are strengthening our team and network, and we are optimistic about driving strong turnover figures during the festive season.”
Reid & Taylor is also making strides in diversifying its product range, expanding from classic formal wear to a broader selection, including fashion formals, celebration and evening wear, and smart casuals. Siddhanta highlighted the brand's tailored approach to product offerings, noting how the range is adjusted depending on the retail format.
“In larger format stores like Shoppers Stop, our product mix leans more towards casual wear, while in our fabric stores, formal wear remains a dominant category,” Siddhanta explained. “The best part is the love we’re receiving from our customers, which has driven very encouraging sales so far. We are bullish about the future.”
