Hon’ble Minister of Textiles Giriraj Singh today awarded degrees to graduates of NIFT Bengaluru during the convocation ceremony held in Bengaluru for the class of 2024. This year a total of 307 students have graduated from NIFT, Bengaluru. Meritorious students from various departments in NIFT, Bengaluru were awarded with various prizes on this occasion. Hon’ble Minister Singh extended his best wishes to the graduates to scale new heights in their respective fields and congratulated their parents & guardians on this important stage of their ward’s life.

On this occasion, Satish Reddy, MLA, Bommanhalli constituency,  Rachna Shah, IAS, Secretary, Ministry of Textiles, GoI, Prajakta Verma, IAS, JS, Ministry of Textiles, GoI, Tanu Kashyap DG, NIFT, were among the dignitaries present.At the onset, Shri Singh welcomed the students of Kendriya Vidyalaya, who were specially invited to the convocation ceremony to inculcate an inspiration and inquisitiveness among them for their higher studies in various non-traditional fields.

The Hon'ble Minister said that the idea of inviting government school students to the convocation ceremonies of prestigious colleges has been inspired from PM Shri Narendra Modi, who used to invite students from rural areas to such ceremonies during his tenure as the Chief Minister of Gujarat.While addressing the graduates Shri Singh said, “Today is the day to celebrate your hard work, perseverance and commitment. This day has come after the hard work of 04 years. You must have overcome  many challenges. You must have faced the challenge of Covid-19 pandemic in the very starting of your course. You have reached here after overcoming that challenging phase. I want to congratulate all of you.”

He said, “NIFT is a synonym of creativity, innovation and excellence. You have to bring India to the top position in the global fashion world.”
