he world-renowned fashion brand Christian Dior unveils its highly anticipated Fall 2023 Men's Campaign. With its signature blend of luxury and innovation, the campaign promises to be a celebration of the brand's rich legacy and its constant pursuit of creativity and elegance.
In front of the Great Pyramid of Giza, the futuristic silhouettes envisioned by Kim Jones for the Fall 2023 show gradually appear. Thus begins a captivating dialogue between ancient and modern civilizations, at the crossroads of the House’s past, present and future. A journey through space and time that is prolonged with a campaign revealing, as a spectacular backdrop, the treasures of Egyptian antiquity.
A dreamlike tableau on which outfits are drawn, combining the essence of Dior style with the innovative spirit of its Ateliers, inspiring a new language exemplified by the woolen half-kilts, evoking the bias pleated skirt of a 1950s dress named Bonne Fortune, boldly merging masculine and feminine. The rigor of tailoring is nuanced by the ease and fluidity of outdoor references, embodied by jacquard mesh pieces for the open air, creating mesmerizing effects of transparency and layering, and reinterpreting the protective function of clothing. As a tribute to Christian Dior’s fascination with astronomy, the stars that guide this collection are transformed into celestial prints, while the revisited Dior logo unfolds in an oversized version on knitwear distinguished by visible seams.
The accessories illustrate this balance of elegance and pragmatism. The shapes of the bags like the Dior Scarab embrace the body, virtually becoming an extension of the garment. Reworked using contemporary techniques such as rubber injection molding, the graphic lines of cannage punctuate the Saddle. This emblematic motif is also revealed on the Desert B31 Runner high-top sneakers – with a quasi-sci-fi look – as well as on helmets and harnesses made with 3D printing, which complete the ensembles.
An invitation to venture away and explore – places, savoir-faire, and traditions – reflecting the House’s constantly renewed inventiveness.
