BHARAT TEX 2025 TEXTILE FAIR ROADSHOW NATIONAL

Giriraj Singh, Hon’ble Union Minister of Textiles, Government of India, inaugurated the Bharat Tex Roadshow in Kolkata today, serving as the Chief Guest for the event. The roadshow, organized to promote India’s textiles and apparel sector, witnessed participation from senior government officials, industry leaders, and a significant number of textile exporters.
The event was graced by Pabitra Margherita, Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Textiles, along with Rohit Kansal, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Textiles. Other notable attendees included Sudhir Sekhri, Chairman of AEPC; Gopal Saraf, Chairman of JPDEPC; Anil Buchasia, Regional Sub-Committee Chairman of AEPC; and Mithileshwar Thakur, Secretary General of AEPC.
Speaking at the event, Giriraj Singh emphasized the government’s dedication to elevating India’s textile sector on a global scale. He highlighted the importance of such initiatives in fostering growth, innovation, and collaboration within the industry, noting the crucial role the sector plays in employment generation and foreign exchange earnings.
The roadshow provided a platform for exporters to engage directly with policymakers, addressing key challenges and exploring strategies for growth. Discussions centered on enhancing value addition in textile production, adopting advanced technologies, and integrating sustainability practices to meet global market demands.
Pabitra Margherita underscored the government’s focus on innovation and urged the industry to embrace modern techniques while preserving the heritage of Indian textiles. He also reiterated the commitment to strengthening India’s export footprint across the globe.
Leaders from AEPC and JPDEPC, including Sudhir Sekhri and Gopal Saraf, shared their perspectives on export trends and market opportunities. They acknowledged the Ministry of Textiles’ efforts in supporting the industry and called for continued collaboration to achieve ambitious export targets.
The Bharat Tex Roadshow in Kolkata is part of a series of initiatives aimed at boosting India’s textile exports, promoting sustainability, and positioning the country as a leader in the global textile value chain. The event concluded with a roadmap for future initiatives to unlock the full potential of India’s textile industry.
