Surat witnessed a significant milestone in its textile sector as Textile Commissioner Roop Rashi (IA&AS) awarded Skill Excellence Certificates to 28 entrepreneurs upon their successful completion of the Textile Advanced Weaving Airjet and Processing Batch. The training program, conducted by the South Gujarat Textile Processors Association (SGTPA) in collaboration with 36T Solutions, aims to equip entrepreneurs with advanced industry skills and enhance the competitiveness of Surat’s textile industry.
As per agency reports, the event also marked the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Ministry of Textiles, the Textile Commissioner’s Office (Ahmedabad), and the Powerloom Service Center (Katargam). This agreement is expected to further strengthen skill development initiatives within the sector.
Following the certificate distribution ceremony, Textile Commissioner Roop Rashi visited the Common Effluent Treatment Plant (CETP) at Pandesara GIDC, where she engaged in discussions with textile processors regarding sustainability and industrial advancements. She emphasized the need for continuous innovation to ensure the industry remains competitive on a global scale.
The event was attended by notable industry figures, including Assistant Director and In-Charge of the Powerloom Service Center Nilay H. Pandya, Rajeev Kulkarni from 36T Solutions Surat, SGTPA President Jitendra Vakharia, and Pandesara Industrial Association President Kamalvijay Tulsiyan. During the ceremony, Kamalvijay Tulsiyan felicitated Textile Commissioner Roop Rashi with a bouquet, after which she personally presented the certificates to the trained entrepreneurs.
SGTPA President Jitendra Vakharia underscored the importance of such training programs for emerging entrepreneurs and revealed plans to expand the initiative further. Textile Commissioner Roop Rashi, in her address, urged entrepreneurs to leverage government schemes, focus on textile exports, and prioritize product quality to enhance Surat’s reputation as a global textile hub. She also highlighted the Indian government’s Manufacturing Mission, emphasizing the need for industrial sustainability and modernization.
With continuous support from the government and industry stakeholders, Surat is poised to further strengthen its position in the global textile market, utilizing advanced training programs and technological innovations.
