Truetzschler India, a subsidiary of the 137-year-old German textile machinery leader Trützschler Group SE, has inaugurated its cutting-edge manufacturing facility in Sanand, near Ahmedabad. Representing an investment of Rs. 400 crore, the new plant underscores the company’s deep commitment to the Indian market and its strategic role in the global textile machinery landscape.
The inauguration ceremony was graced by the Honourable Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri Bhupendra Bhai Patel, along with Honourable Member of Parliament Shri Parshottam Ji Rupala, Sanand MLA Kanubhai Patel, and the Consulate General of Germany in India, Mr. Achim Fabig. Also present were the shareholders’ family members, along with senior leaders from Truetzschler’s global and Indian teams.
Truetzschler’s journey in India began in 1977 under the brand name “Trumac,” with a steady growth trajectory over the decades. As space limitations at its three existing units in Lambha became a challenge, the company acquired a 42-acre site in Sanand to build a modern integrated campus over the past three years. The Card Clothing (TCC) unit began operations in July 2023, followed by the spinning division becoming functional in February 2024.
The Sanand facility is equipped with advanced automation systems, digital integration, and a large climate-controlled environment designed to ensure superior product quality and enhance employee well-being. With an installed capacity nearly double that of its previous setup, the plant currently provides employment to approximately 1,200 people, both directly and indirectly. The site also includes 25,000 sq mt of land reserved for future expansion.
As part of the inauguration, Parshottam Ji Rupala unveiled Truetzschler’s latest innovation — the TC26i intelligent Carding machine — while Shri Bhupendra Bhai Patel revealed the commemorative plaque. Marking the event on Gujarat Foundation Day, the Chief Minister once again highlighted the significance of Truetzschler’s global presence across Germany, the US, China, and Brazil, stating that the Sanand facility now stands as the company’s largest and most technologically sophisticated plant in the world.
The occasion also recognised the collaborative efforts of the Gujarat government, the teams from India and Germany, as well as the employees and suppliers, all of whom played a pivotal role in bringing this ambitious project to fruition.
