Amidst the architectural grandeur and progressive spirit of Telangana, 107 contestants of the 72nd Miss World Festival visited the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Telangana State Secretariat today. The visit offered a glimpse into the state's inspiring journey from tradition to technology, highlighting its commitment to secure tourism and global hospitality.
The event commenced with a solemn tribute at the Telangana Thalli statue, symbolizing the state's cultural identity and aspirations. The contestants then proceeded to the central lawn, where they were welcomed with a traditional Hyderabadi tea menu, offering a taste of the region's renowned hospitality.
The program officially began with the rendition of the Telangana Anthem, setting a patriotic tone for the day's proceedings. A highlight of the visit was the 3D projection mapping of Telangana's history and growth story, illuminating the Secretariat's façade with vivid visuals narrating the state's journey from its inception to its current status as a hub of innovation and development.
This was complemented by a mesmerizing drone show, featuring 1,000 drones choreographed to depict the implementation of various government schemes, reflecting Telangana's commitment to leveraging technology for public welfare. The cultural immersion continued with performances of Indian instrumental music and a photo shoot session, capturing the contestants amidst the architectural grandeur of the Secretariat. An event viewing gallery was set up for the attendees to witness the proceedings comfortably.
The program concluded with the Indian National Anthem, instilling a sense of unity and pride among the participants, bringing the event to a powerful and emotional close.
Julia Morley CBE, Chairman and CEO of the Miss World Organization, expressed her admiration for the event, stating, "Telangana has beautifully showcased its heritage and progressive spirit today. The integration of cultural elements with technological innovation provides our contestants with a profound understanding of the state's identity and aspirations."
The visit to the Secretariat is part of a series of events organized by the Telangana government to highlight the state's advancements in public safety and tourism infrastructure.
The 72nd Miss World Festival, being held in Hyderabad from May 7 to May 31, 2025, serves as a platform to promote Telangana's cultural richness and technological prowess to a global audience.
