The French icon arrives at Kala Ghoda, weaving 130 years of French heritage with Mumbai’s vibrant spirit of modern luxury.
Galeries Lafayette, one of the world’s most celebrated department stores, is set to open its first Indian flagship on Saturday, 8 November 2025, at the historic Turner Morrison and Voltas House buildings in Kala Ghoda, Mumbai. The launch marks a milestone in India’s luxury landscape, uniting the French icon’s 130-year legacy of fashion, art, and culture with the Aditya Birla Group’s deep understanding of the Indian market.
Blending French elegance with Mumbai’s cultural vitality, the flagship will bring together over 250 global designer and luxury brands across fashion, beauty, accessories, and contemporary streetwear. Alongside couture and ready-to-wear labels, the store will showcase an extensive beauty portfolio, from skincare and cosmetics to fragrances and more - bringing the world’s most coveted names under one roof. Curated for both men and women, the experience redefines modern luxury for India’s evolving, style-conscious consumer.
Commenting on the opening, Sathyajit Radhakrishnan, CEO, International Brands at Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited, said: “India today is shaping a new global language of luxury - one defined by culture, confidence, and contemporary expression. The opening of Galeries Lafayette Mumbai at this moment feels especially fitting as the country stands at the intersection of global relevance and local renaissance.

As we unveil this world-class destination, we see a generation of shoppers who are digitally connected, globally aware, and seeking experiences that go far beyond the product. Galeries Lafayette Mumbai is designed to meet that mindset, offering a curated universe of fashion, beauty, and lifestyle that is as aspirational as it is personal; a space where discovery, emotion, and experience come together to redefine what retail means in India.”
