L'Oréal India has marked a significant milestone in its journey in the country with the inauguration of a new Beauty For A Better Life (BFABL) Skilling Centre and Salon at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Kaushalya Vikas Kendra in Kandivali (East), Mumbai, alongside the launch of its first-ever Socio-Economic Impact Report. The development highlights the beauty giant's continued commitment to skill development, women's empowerment, local manufacturing, and inclusive economic growth in India.

The announcement was shared on L'Oréal India's official LinkedIn page and was commemorated in the presence of Piyush Goyal, along with Jacques Lebel and Aseem Kaushik, senior leaders associated with the company.
The newly inaugurated BFABL Skilling Centre has been established to provide professional beauty training and career opportunities to aspiring beauty professionals, particularly women seeking financial independence and sustainable livelihoods. The initiative forms part of L'Oréal's globally recognised Beauty For A Better Life programme, which aims to equip individuals from underserved communities with industry-relevant skills and employment opportunities.

The launch also coincided with the unveiling of L'Oréal India's inaugural Socio-Economic Impact Report, offering a comprehensive overview of the company's contribution to the Indian economy over the last 31 years. The report highlights the company's extensive impact across manufacturing, employment generation, supply chains, and community development initiatives.
According to the report, every direct job created by L'Oréal India supports approximately 90,500 additional jobs across various sectors, including packaging, logistics, retail, raw material sourcing, and distribution. The findings underscore the significant multiplier effect of the beauty and personal care industry on the broader economy.
The report further revealed that 95 percent of L'Oréal India's products are manufactured locally, reinforcing the company's commitment to the Government of India's "Make in India" vision. By strengthening domestic manufacturing capabilities and local sourcing networks, the company continues to contribute to India's industrial growth while serving both domestic and international markets.
A key highlight of the report is the impact of the Beauty For A Better Life initiative. Since its inception, the programme has helped more than 42,000 women gain access to professional beauty education and livelihood opportunities. The initiative has enabled participants to increase their household incomes by an average of 44 percent, while delivering a 25-times social return on investment, demonstrating the transformative power of vocational training and economic inclusion.
The company stated that these achievements represent far more than business metrics, reflecting tangible improvements in the lives of thousands of individuals and families across India. Through skill development, employment creation, and entrepreneurship support, L'Oréal India continues to contribute to building stronger and more resilient communities.
The inauguration of the Kandivali (East) skilling centre also reinforces the company's focus on creating accessible pathways for professional growth within the beauty industry. By combining training infrastructure with practical salon experience, the centre is expected to enhance employability and support the development of a skilled workforce for India's growing beauty and wellness sector.
Over the years, L'Oréal India has consistently invested in initiatives that advance sustainability, inclusion, and economic empowerment. The company has expanded its manufacturing footprint, strengthened local supply chains, and implemented programmes focused on education, skill development, and environmental responsibility.
As India continues to emerge as one of the world's fastest-growing beauty and personal care markets, L'Oréal India remains focused on driving growth that creates value not only for consumers and business partners but also for communities across the country. Through initiatives such as Beauty For A Better Life and its continued investment in local manufacturing and talent development, the company aims to play an active role in shaping a more inclusive and sustainable future.
