Grasim Industries Limited has announced the appointment of Sangeeta Tanwani as CEO (Designate) of its Textiles Business, effective August 1, 2026, as part of a planned leadership transition aimed at ensuring continuity and sustained growth within the division.
The appointment was approved by the company’s Board of Directors based on the recommendation of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee. The development was disclosed through a regulatory filing submitted to BSE Limited and the National Stock Exchange of India Limited (NSE) on June 17, 2026, in accordance with Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.
As part of the transition plan, Tanwani will take over as the Chief Executive Officer of Grasim’s Textiles Business from November 1, 2026, succeeding Kapil Agrawal, who will step down from his current role as Business Head – Textiles Business on October 31, 2026. Agrawal is set to move into a new leadership assignment within the broader Aditya Birla Group.
Tanwani brings with her more than three decades of diverse leadership experience spanning multiple sectors, including retail, FMCG, financial services, and pharmaceuticals. Her extensive background in business transformation, brand building, and consumer-centric growth strategies is expected to further strengthen Grasim’s textile operations as the company continues to expand its presence in the sector.
Since joining the Aditya Birla Group in 2018, Tanwani has played a pivotal role in driving strategic initiatives across the Group’s retail businesses. She successfully led the transformation of Pantaloons, one of India’s leading fashion retail chains, while also spearheading the Group’s entry into the value-fashion segment through the development of Style Up, which was later repositioned and transformed into OWND.
The leadership transition comes at a significant time for Grasim Industries as it continues to strengthen its position across textiles and allied businesses. The company believes the planned succession will provide continuity in leadership while supporting future growth and innovation within its textile division.
With Tanwani set to take charge later this year, Grasim’s textiles business is expected to benefit from her proven track record in scaling consumer-focused businesses, driving operational excellence, and building strong retail-led growth platforms.
