The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), under the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India participated in the 19th edition of HGH India 2026, India's leading trade exhibition for home textiles, home décor, gifts and houseware. The exhibition was held from June 30 to July 3, 2026 at the Bombay Exhibition Centre (NESCO), Goregaon, Mumbai.
HGH India 2026 attracted 43,920 trade buyers from more than 700 cities and towns across the country along with 32 international participants. The exhibition brought together manufacturers, retailers, exporters, architects, interior designers, e-commerce companies, institutional buyers and other industry professionals. It also featured Trend Forecasts, H-Circle Product Innovation Awards, HGH India Interactive and the Indian Heritage and Sustainability Pavilion.
NIFT Mumbai set up a dedicated stall to showcase its Regular Academic Programmes, Continuing Education Programmes (CEP), Craft Cluster Initiatives, the National Technical Textiles Mission (NTTM) Project and innovative student projects. These exhibits highlighted the institute's work in design, technology, sustainability, research and industry collaboration.
The stall was visited by Vrunda Manohar Desai, IRS, Textile Commissioner, Government of India, who appreciated NIFT's efforts in promoting quality education, research, craft development and industry partnerships.
The stall received an encouraging response from industry leaders, entrepreneurs, designers, exporters, retailers, prospective students and parents. It served as an effective platform for interaction and opened new opportunities for collaboration in education, research, innovation and skill development.
NIFT's participation in HGH India 2026 reaffirmed its commitment to promoting sustainable design, preserving India's rich craft heritage, encouraging innovation and strengthening partnerships with industry to develop a skilled, creative and future ready workforce for the textile and design sectors.
