Swarovski is proud to have brought its signature shine to the first-ever halftime performance at a World Cup final.
The match between Spain and Argentina was held at the MetLife Stadium in Rutherford, New Jersey, USA, and co-headliners Madonna and Shakira lit up the stage in custom Swarovski.
Madonna cemented her status as a global icon styled in the House’s iconic Millenia collection with full cut crystals in a vivid shade of Fuchsia, adding layers of light to the star’s performance look. The ensemble was further complemented by the Swarovski UNA Angelic strandage and Swarovski custom earrings.
Her backing dancers also amplified the glamour of the occasion in coordinating outfits adorned with Swarovski Crystals, all radiating pure joy under the stadium lights.
Global Creative Director, Giovanna Engelbert, said: "Millenia stands for bold self-expression, making it a powerful match for Madonna – an artist whose influence continues to shape culture across generations. It was an honor to collaborate with her and her team on these custom Swarovski pieces and bring this vision to life together.”
A performer known for her mesmerizing moves, Shakira wore a custom Roberto Cavalli outfit hand-embroidered with over 200,000 Swarovski Crystals to sing the tournament’s anthem “Dai Dai!”
Flat Back Hotfix crystals and chatons in sunshine hues of pink, orange, and citrine brought the distinctive design to life. The interplay of two crystal cuts brought depth and extraordinary radiance to the ensemble, which took 120 hours to complete.
The look was completed with gold Swarovski Hyperbola Collection eyewear adding an elevated touch of glamour.
Swarovski’s continued influence on popular culture can be seen on the world’s biggest stages, setting special events and stadiums alight with its renowned crystal artistry and savoir-faire.
