Reliance Retail-owned beauty platform Tira has strengthened its premium skincare portfolio with the exclusive launch of South Korean dermo-cosmetic brand Dr. Melaxin in India. The partnership marks the brand's official entry into the country's rapidly growing dermo-cosmetics segment, where demand for clinically validated, ingredient-led skincare solutions continues to accelerate.
Dr. Melaxin will be available exclusively through Tira's online platform and select retail stores across India. The brand has introduced a range of dermatologist-tested products formulated to address common skin concerns such as pigmentation, enlarged pores, skin ageing, loss of firmness and uneven skin texture. Among the highlights of the India launch is the company's innovative Peel Shot range, developed to deliver targeted skincare solutions backed by advanced scientific research.
Founded in South Korea, Dr. Melaxin is recognised for combining dermatological science with cosmetic innovation. The brand's formulations are inspired by vaccine science and are designed to support skin health through clinically evaluated ingredients while remaining suitable for sensitive skin. Positioned within the dermo-cosmetic category, its products bridge the gap between prescription skincare and conventional beauty products by focusing on efficacy, safety and dermatologist-backed formulations.
The launch comes at a time when India's skincare market is witnessing robust growth, driven by increasing consumer awareness around ingredient transparency, clinical efficacy and preventive skin health. According to Euromonitor International, the Indian skincare market grew by 13 per cent in value during 2025, reaching approximately ₹32,210 crore, with demand increasingly shifting towards science-backed skincare products supported by dermatological expertise and evidence-based formulations.
The growing popularity of dermo-cosmetics has also encouraged pharmaceutical companies to strengthen their presence in the segment. Companies including Glenmark have expanded their dermatology-focused consumer care portfolios, reflecting the broader industry trend towards medically inspired skincare solutions that address concerns ranging from acne and pigmentation to sensitive skin and healthy ageing.
Commenting on the India launch, Yu Kyoung Hwa, Chief Executive Officer of Dr. Melaxin, said, "Indian consumers are curious, informed and genuinely interested in effective skincare solutions. Their key concerns, from pigmentation to texture and firmness, are exactly what we have set out to address. Through our launch with Tira, we are excited to bring our most innovative products, including the Peel Shot line, to the people it was created for."
Echoing the evolving consumer mindset, Dr. Deepali Bhardwaj, Senior Consultant Dermatologist and Robotic Hair Transplant Surgeon at Max Super Speciality Hospital, Saket, and Founder of Elska Clinics, noted that medical skincare has increasingly become mainstream as consumers actively seek clinically proven ingredients such as retinol, niacinamide, ceramides and peptides, placing greater emphasis on scientific evidence and dermatologist recommendations over conventional cosmetic claims.
For Tira, the exclusive partnership further reinforces its strategy of bringing globally recognised beauty and skincare brands to Indian consumers while expanding its curated portfolio of premium international offerings. The addition of Dr. Melaxin reflects the platform's continued focus on meeting the growing demand for science-backed skincare solutions through both its digital platform and physical retail network.
As Indian consumers increasingly prioritise efficacy, safety and clinically validated formulations, the launch of Dr. Melaxin signals another significant step in the evolution of India's premium skincare landscape, where beauty and dermatological science continue to converge.
