The first-ever “Delhi Gaurav Samman” was organised by Sanskriti Yuva Sanstha on August 9, 2026, at the Prime Ministers Museum and Library, New Delhi. Continuing the organisation’s tradition of the Bharat Gaurav, Rajasthan Gaurav and Mumbai Gaurav Awards, the ceremony honoured 31 distinguished personalities from Delhi for their notable contributions across diverse fields.

The ceremony was graced by Arjun Ram Meghwal, Minister of Law and Justice, Government of India, as the Chief Guest, along with Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’, former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand and former Union Minister of Education, and  Kalraj Mishra, former Governor of Rajasthan.

Speaking on the occasion, Arjun Ram Meghwal said that honouring eminent personalities of Delhi is an exemplary initiative. He noted that the responsibility of taking Indian culture forward rests with the youth, while the personalities honoured at the ceremony are bringing recognition to Delhi through their respective fields.

Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ said that recognising distinguished personalities is a responsibility of society and that such initiatives inspire others who are working towards meaningful contributions across different sectors.

Among the awardees was renowned fashion designer and designer of Ram Lalla (Ayodhya), Manish Tripathi, who was recognised for his contribution to design and his efforts to take Indian cultural heritage and craftsmanship into contemporary spaces. His work includes designing Shri Ram Lalla's attire and the Axiom Mission insignia, reflecting his approach of taking Indian design and cultural identity beyond conventional fashion.

Tripathi has also been actively working with handloom, Khadi and artisan communities, using design to create contemporary opportunities and strengthen sustainable livelihoods. Through projects with tribal communities, including work under RISA and with the Rabha weavers of Assam, he has explored ways to develop new products and markets while preserving traditional skills and textiles. His recent work continues to focus on responsible innovation and empowering artisans as custodians and collaborators in India's cultural heritage.

Other prominent personalities honoured at the ceremony included Indian classical dancer (Kathak) Shovana Narayan, Rajyogini B. K. Laxmi Ji of Brahma Kumaris, Dr. Sandeep Marwah, Liberatha Kallat, Gaurav Gupta, Ashish Kumar, Dr. Ajit Pathak, Raj Shandilya, Dr. Karan Chaudhary, Vidushi Nishank, Lieutenant Colonel Manoj Kumar Sinha, Neeraj Pandey,  Gurinder Singh, Anshu Gupta, Rahul Mishra, Swati Garg, Rajesh Bajaj, Dr. Anshul Diwan, Dr. Mukesh Kumar, Shravan Jha, Avinash Malik, Dr. Vinod Kashyap, Ashwin Kumar, Renu Singh, Saurav Baisoya, Aditi Nagar, Shekhar Kaushik and Monu Chauhan.

The programme commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and the National Anthem. Guests and awardees were welcomed by representatives of Sanskriti Yuva Sanstha, while the programme was conducted by Somyata Mishra.

At the conclusion of the event, Programme Coordinator Dr. K. C. Parwal expressed his gratitude to all the guests, awardees and supporters for their presence and contribution to the successful आयोजन of the ceremony.
