RSWM Limited has showcased its latest textile innovation, Milkweed fibre, to Union Minister of Textiles Giriraj Singh, highlighting the natural fibre’s potential applications across the textile industry.

The development was shared on RSWM Limited’s official LinkedIn page following a meeting between Rajeev Gupta, Joint Managing Director, RSWM Limited, the company’s senior leadership team and Giriraj Singh. During the interaction, the company presented its Milkweed innovation along with a ready garment developed using the natural fibre.

The discussion focused on the potential of Milkweed as a textile material, particularly its lightweight, warm and silky characteristics. RSWM Limited highlighted opportunities for the fibre in applications suited to colder regions, while also exploring its potential contribution to the wider global textile ecosystem.

The company also shared its broader vision of developing sustainable innovations that can contribute to India’s self-reliance and strengthen the country’s position in global markets. RSWM Limited acknowledged the guidance of the Union Textile Minister and the role of the Northern India Textile Research Association in supporting its efforts to advance the innovation.

The company said the initiative reflects its continued focus on transforming an underutilised natural resource into a potential value-added textile material, creating new possibilities across the value chain.
