NEWME, India’s fastest-growing Gen Z fashion-tech brand, is accelerating its retail expansion, reaching 40 stores across India with the addition of two new stores today in Lajpat Nagar, Delhi and Model Town, Jalandhar. Both stores are located in prominent, high-footfall markets, further strengthening the brand’s presence across key fashion catchments. What makes the milestone particularly notable is the pace at which the brand has reached it: NEWME has opened 22 stores in 2026 so far, compared with 18 stores across its first three years of operations.
For a brand founded only in 2022, this marks a rapid evolution from a digital-first fashion startup to a growing omnichannel fashion business with a physical presence across some of India’s most important fashion markets. The significance of the 40-store milestone, however, goes beyond the number itself.
India has for years been one of the world’s biggest consumers of global fashion trends, often receiving them after they have already taken off internationally. NEWME represents a new generation of Indian fashion companies looking to change that equation—building for Indian consumers, at global speed in bringing the latest trends, and with the ambition to create a fashion brand that can stand alongside global players. NEWME is increasingly compared with international fast-fashion and fashion-tech platforms for its ability to combine trend intelligence, technology, speed and a deep understanding of young consumers.
Sumit Jasoria, CEO & Co-founder, NEWME, said, “Reaching 40 stores is an important milestone for us, but the pace behind it is even more significant. In our first three years, we were deliberately measured about retail expansion, using our early stores to understand consumer behaviour, markets and the right formats for NEWME. The traction we have seen has given us the confidence to accelerate, and we have now added 22 stores this year alone—more than in our first three years. We are now looking to reach 50 stores by December and 60 stores by March 2027, as we build a strong physical network that takes NEWME closer to young consumers across the country. We believe India has the consumers, talent and opportunity to build a global fashion company, and the next generation of Indian brands can make that happen.”
What makes the expansion significant is not just the number of stores being added, but the breadth of markets NEWME is entering. Over the past two months, the brand has expanded into new cities including Jalandhar, Jodhpur, Ludhiana, Visakhapatnam, Vadodara, while simultaneously strengthening its presence across established fashion markets such as Delhi, Mumbai and Rajasthan. In August alone, NEWME opened five stores across Delhi, Mumbai and Rajasthan, taking its latest retail expansion into high-footfall fashion destinations across both metros and emerging markets.
The brand is also changing where it wants to be present as high streets are increasingly becoming a key focus of this expansion. While malls remain an important part of its retail network, NEWME is also moving into high-footfall premium high streets and established shopping destinations where young consumers already live, shop and discover fashion. This allows the brand to build closer, more visible relationships with consumers while entering newer catchments with strong demand.
The expansion is being guided by a data-led approach, with digital demand, consumer behaviour, market potential and location-level traction helping determine where NEWME establishes its next stores. This enables the brand to identify markets where its online consumer base is already showing strong engagement and use physical retail to deepen that relationship. With more than 30% of its business currently coming from offline retail, the brand’s offline business has grown by 100% YoY. The brand expects the contribution from offline retail to increase further as it expands its store network.
NEWME’s retail network is complemented by NEWME Zip, its quick-fashion delivery proposition designed to bring trend-led fashion to consumers with greater speed and convenience. Together, the brand’s stores, digital platform and faster fulfilment proposition are creating an increasingly connected fashion ecosystem.
The brand’s growth is backed by its broader Gen Z-focused model, combining trend intelligence, technology, creators and community-led engagement. Having served 35+ lakh customers to date, NEWME is now entering its next phase of growth with a sharper focus on retail scale. With 50 stores targeted by December 2026 and 60 stores by the end of FY27, the brand is building a wider physical footprint across metros, emerging fashion markets and high-street destinations, while retaining the speed and agility of its digital-first model.
Backed by leading investors Accel and Fireside Ventures, NEWME is building an omnichannel fashion ecosystem at the intersection of technology, trend intelligence and physical retail, with a growing presence across India’s rapidly evolving Gen Z fashion market.
