British fashion retailer NEXT has expanded its physical retail presence in India with the opening of its first store in Mumbai at Infiniti Mall, Malad, in partnership with Myntra. The store was inaugurated by Bollywood actor, singer and model Shibani Akhtar, marking another step in the brand’s ongoing India expansion.
The newly opened store spans 8,900 sq. ft., according to the company’s official announcement, and brings NEXT’s fashion proposition across women’s, men’s and children’s wear to Mumbai consumers. The store features curated collections designed to offer customers access to the brand’s latest fashion offerings across multiple categories.

NEXT’s Mumbai launch follows its expansion into the Indian physical retail market through its strategic association with Myntra Jabong India Pvt. Ltd. (MJIPL), the B2B wholesale entity of Myntra. Under the partnership, MJIPL holds the licensed rights to distribute NEXT’s product portfolio in India and works with licensed franchisee partners to establish and operate stores.
NEXT entered the Indian market through Myntra in 2023, with the brand subsequently moving into offline retail. Its first exclusive brand outlet in India opened at Pavilion Mall in Pune in September 2025. The company had identified India as a strategic growth market and announced plans to build more than 50 points of sale across the country through a combination of exclusive stores and shop-in-shop formats.

The brand has since expanded its physical presence across key Indian markets, including Pune, Hyderabad and Bengaluru. Its Mumbai launch further strengthens its footprint in one of the country's major fashion and organised retail markets. Recent industry reports have placed NEXT’s Indian store network at five outlets before the Mumbai opening.
Founded in 1982, NEXT has established itself as a major British fashion retailer, offering contemporary clothing with a focus on design, quality and accessible pricing. Globally, the company operates more than 460 stores in the UK, around 265 international franchise locations and has an online presence across approximately 80 countries.

The brand's Indian proposition spans women’s, men’s and children’s fashion, with categories including dresses, shirts, T-shirts, trousers, denims, shorts and co-ordinated sets. The Pune launch had also highlighted the brand’s focus on premium children’s fashion, alongside its broader offering for Indian consumers.
With the Mumbai launch, NEXT’s presence in India now stands at six stores, according to the company’s announcement, with a further two stores planned by the end of the year. This expansion indicates the brand’s continued focus on building its physical retail network alongside its established digital presence on Myntra.
The Mumbai store at Infiniti Mall, Malad, also places NEXT within one of Mumbai’s established organised retail destinations. Infiniti Mall Malad is located on New Link Road and houses more than 200 shopping brands, along with food, entertainment and leisure offerings.
The Mumbai opening therefore marks an important stage in NEXT’s India journey, as the brand combines its international fashion proposition with a growing physical retail network and its partnership-led expansion strategy. With additional stores planned, NEXT is continuing to build its presence across key Indian markets while strengthening access to its women’s, men’s and children’s collections.
