Dutch denim brand G-STAR has appointed Belgian DJ, producer and KNTXT founder Charlotte de Witte as its new Global Brand Ambassador as part of a multi-year partnership that will support the brand’s renewed focus on its women’s collection.

The partnership brings together G-STAR’s denim-focused approach and de Witte’s independent creative identity, with the collaboration positioned around individuality, confidence and challenging established conventions.
Charlotte de Witte has built an international career as a DJ and producer while also establishing KNTXT, her platform and label centred on techno culture. Her association with G-STAR adds a music and contemporary culture dimension to the brand’s ongoing denim narrative.
According to G-STAR, de Witte’s career has been shaped by focus, discipline and the confidence to follow her own instincts. These qualities align with the brand’s approach to denim, which centres on challenging conventions, experimentation and creating distinctive interpretations of the fabric.

G-STAR has been dedicated to denim since its founding in Amsterdam in 1989. The brand describes its philosophy as “Hardcore Denim,” reflecting its focus on craftsmanship, innovation and pushing the boundaries of denim design. It was among the early brands to champion raw and untreated denim and later introduced anatomic denim, including the 3D-shaped Elwood jean.
The brand's current offering spans men's and women's denim, including multiple fits such as skinny, slim, straight, tapered, loose and bootcut, alongside jackets, tops, shirts, knitwear, accessories and other apparel categories.

For women, G-STAR's collections currently include jeans, trousers, cargos, shorts, skirts, jackets, coats, tops, dresses and jumpsuits. The brand has also been developing its women's denim proposition through initiatives such as RAW RESEARCH, which reworks archival elements through engineered construction, articulated fits and functional design.
The renewed women's collection has been influenced by de Witte's perspective, according to the brand. Her relationship with denim and her approach to personal style are being incorporated into the wider creative direction of the collaboration.
Commenting on the partnership, Charlotte de Witte said, “Denim has always been part of how I move through the world, on stage, on the road, at home, so becoming part of the G-Star family honestly feels like the most natural thing. I’m very excited for what’s ahead...”
The partnership also builds on G-STAR's history of working with personalities from music, fashion, design, art and other creative disciplines. The brand has previously collaborated with figures including Pharrell Williams, Snoop Dogg, Burna Boy and Cara Delevingne, as well as designers and creatives from outside the traditional fashion industry.
Alongside creativity, denim innovation and responsible production have remained part of G-STAR's brand development. The company has worked on raw denim, recycled and organic materials, water-saving production processes and circularity initiatives. In 2018, G-STAR introduced a Cradle to Cradle Certified Gold denim fabric, while its current communications continue to emphasise durability and designing denim intended to last.
The collaboration with Charlotte de Witte therefore marks a new chapter for G-STAR as the brand continues to explore the intersection of denim, music, culture and individuality. With de Witte becoming its global face and contributing to the creative energy surrounding its renewed women's collection, G-STAR is extending its denim identity into a broader contemporary cultural conversation.
