IIT Delhi-originated deeptech textile startup IndigoTex has raised ₹5 crore in a funding round led by IAN Angel Fund, with participation from SIDBI, FITT and IIT Delhi Angels. The company plans to deploy the fresh capital towards strengthening its manufacturing infrastructure, expanding its sales and operations team, and accelerating the commercialisation of its textile technologies and products.
Founded in 2024 by Satendra Singh, Prof. B.S. Butola and Dilip Singh, IndigoTex is developing technologies focused on waterless wool finishing and wool-based fabrics. Its product portfolio includes IndiWool Denim, which combines wool with denim and is being developed in variants suited to different climatic conditions. The range includes fabrics with lower wool content for all-weather applications and wool-rich constructions intended for colder climates.
The company is also developing ECOTEX Wool, a technology aimed at enabling washable wool and poly-wool fabrics. Its technology portfolio is focused on enhancing the functionality and processing of wool-based textiles while addressing industry requirements for more efficient finishing processes.
IndigoTex has established a textile finishing facility at Rai Industrial Area in Sonipat, Haryana, while its research and development activities continue at the Research and Innovation Park at IIT Delhi.
The startup has also begun developing relationships with international fashion and luxury industry players. It has signed non-disclosure agreements with Ralph Lauren and Kering Group in France and is in discussions with premium and luxury brands, garment manufacturers, fabric exporters and sourcing companies.
Its international market engagement has expanded across Europe and cold-climate markets, including Australia, with discussions also underway in France, Russia and Denmark. These engagements are focused on exploring potential applications and commercial opportunities for IndigoTex’s wool-based textile technologies.
IndigoTex was among 120 startups selected for Bharat Innovates 2026 in Nice, France, as well as at the BRICS Summit 2026, giving the company opportunities to showcase its technologies and engage with international stakeholders.
Satendra Singh, Co-founder & CEO, IndigoTex, said, “We would like to sincerely thank each and every investor who participated in this investment round and placed their trust in IndigoTex. This investment marks an important milestone in our journey as we build a deep-tech textile company from India for global markets. As we move forward, integrity, sustainable growth, a customer-centric approach, and the responsible deployment of capital will remain at the core of our decisions. We are committed to using this support to strengthen our R&D, scale our innovative textile technologies, expand into technical textiles, and create products that solve real-world problems.”
The company’s broader vision is to position India as a source of deeptech textile innovation for global markets, with a focus on advanced and technical textiles. IndigoTex aims to build a globally recognised textile R&D company focused on developing new materials, products and problem-solving technologies, while creating opportunities for textile engineers to work on technology-led solutions addressing real-world challenges.
With the latest funding, IndigoTex is now looking to advance its technologies from development towards commercial-scale manufacturing and market adoption, while expanding its presence across premium textiles, apparel and international sourcing markets.
