Ethnix by Raymond, the ethnic wear brand from Raymond Lifestyle Limited, is set to take wedding celebrations to the streets of Gurgaon with ‘Mandap on Wheels’, an on-ground marketing activation featuring a live wedding procession mounted on a moving float.
The activation will see a fully decorated mandap, a live band and a cast of wedding guests recreate an Indian wedding procession as it travels across key parts of the city for two to three hours. At the centre of the spectacle, a couple will actually get married on the float, making it a live wedding ceremony rather than a staged brand experience.
The initiative aims to take the celebration directly to consumers, bringing the sights and sounds of an Indian wedding into everyday city life, including busy roads and market areas. Drawing on the cultural familiarity of a traditional baraat, the campaign seeks to break through advertising clutter by transforming an ordinary commute into an unexpected brand experience.
Commenting on the initiative, Kalpana Singh, CMO, Raymond Lifestyle Limited, said, “The activation is designed to work on two levels at once. On the ground, it buys the brand an unmissable share of attention at the exact moment the wedding season opens, across a route chosen for footfall rather than convenience. Every surface carries the brand – the float, the mandap, the band, the cast to ensure recall is built into the spectacle rather than appended to it. And every stretch of the route is captured for owned and earned digital content, turning a few hours of street-level noise into a campaign with a far longer tail. The route concludes within reach of Ethnix by Raymond’s Gurgaon retail presence, converting attention into store footfall at the start of the buying cycle rather than at the end of it.”
Also commenting on the initiative, Vivek Das, Chief Digital Officer, Madison Media, said, “In an increasingly cluttered media landscape, brands need to move beyond conventional touchpoints and create experiences that people notice, engage with and remember. Mandap on Wheels taps into the cultural significance and collective excitement of Indian weddings to transform an everyday city commute into an unexpected, high-impact brand experience. By bringing together the spectacle of a moving mandap, the energy of a live baraat and the relevance of the wedding season, the campaign takes the brand directly to consumers, creating an experience that captures attention on the streets and extends its reach through organic sharing. It is a great example of how creative thinking, cultural insight and impactful on-ground execution can come together to create memorable brand experiences.”
The campaign coincides with the opening of the wedding season, when the groom’s wardrobe often extends beyond a single outfit to include ensembles for multiple occasions, such as engagements, haldi, sangeet, the wedding ceremony and the reception. Ethnix by Raymond positions itself as a brand catering to this wider requirement through occasion-specific collections.
Its portfolio includes sherwanis, bandhgalas, indo-westerns, kurtas and bundis, designed as a coordinated wedding wardrobe. The collections draw on traditional craft techniques and textiles, including Jamawar, brocade, hand block print and placement embroidery, supported by Raymond’s textile expertise.
The brand’s large-format retail stores are designed to help customers plan their wedding wardrobes in a single visit, with styling support across multiple ceremonies. From its origins as a wedding-wear offering, Ethnix by Raymond has expanded into a broader Indian occasion-wear brand, with a presence on the national fashion stage, including a showcase at Lakmé Fashion Week in October 2026.
Through ‘Mandap on Wheels’, the brand aims to extend its wedding-season visibility beyond conventional retail and advertising touchpoints, while directing consumer attention towards its Gurgaon retail presence. Ethnix by Raymond collections are available at its stores nationwide and online.
