Amid the cultural vibrance of Telangana, the 72nd edition of the Miss World Festival has unveiled the Final Top 4 winners of its esteemed Head-to-Head Challenge - a segment that redefines beauty through the lens of purpose, intellect, and social advocacy. From a compelling round involving 107 contestants worldwide, 20 finalists were shortlisted. Now, four outstanding women have emerged as continental representatives, advancing to the much-awaited Grand Finale on 31 May at HITEX, Hyderabad.
These inspiring voices, selected for their conviction, clarity, and compassion, are:
The Head-to-Head Challenge offered a powerful global platform where contestants articulated personal journeys and pressing societal issues, resonating with audiences worldwide.
Representing the Americas & Caribbean, Anna-Lise Nanton praised Telangana’s progressive stance on women’s safety and freedom:
“I come from a STEM background and love seeing the correlation between progress and women’s empowerment. Telangana shows the world that women can study, work, dress, and live freely. Thank you, Telangana, for not leaving women behind.”
From Zambia, Faith Bwalya brought a message of emotional strength and faith through her personal journey:
“I struggled with anxiety and depression. Faith in God and self-discovery pulled me through. Every woman has something powerful to contribute. Discover your purpose - then give it away.”
Millie-Mae Adams of Wales, a medical student and mentor, highlighted the need for equity in education:
“I would widen access to medical education. As a mentor in 'Into Med School', I believe girls from underprivileged areas should know—yes, you can be a doctor and a beauty queen. You can be anything.”
Turkiye’s Idil Bilgen, drawing from a deeply personal loss, shared her mission rooted in healthcare advocacy:
“My mother battled breast cancer for 16 years. I now advocate early detection and screenings. Through research, outreach in Turkey and Ukraine, and personal loss, I’ve learned: when we educate women, we protect families and save lives.”
Julia Morley CBE, Chairman and CEO of the Miss World Organisation, shared her pride in the evolution of the challenge and the strength of the finalists: “The Head-to-Head Challenge continues to be a testament to the intelligence, resilience, and compassion of our contestants. These four remarkable young women have not only captured hearts, but have also demonstrated the power of purpose-led dialogue. Telangana has provided an inspiring stage—one that celebrates progress, inclusivity, and the strength of women worldwide.”
Beyond the stage, contestants expressed admiration for Telangana’s modern infrastructure, technological advancement, and unwavering commitment to women’s safety. Many described the state as “a place where dreams are crowned” - reflecting its seamless blend of tradition, innovation, and inclusive governance.
The Telangana Police Department received widespread praise for its proactive, tech-driven security systems that ensured a safe and empowering environment throughout the festival. From AI-led governance to world-class urban planning and cultural vibrancy, Telangana was celebrated as a shining example of contemporary India.
The experience was further enriched by Trident Hyderabad, the official hospitality partner, where gracious service, curated dining, and warm attention to detail created an unforgettable experience for contestants and delegates alike.
With the Head-to-Head Challenge concluded, all eyes now turn to the Top Model competition, scheduled for 24 May. Here, elegance, confidence, and presence will take center stage as contestants continue their journey toward the coveted Miss World crown.
