: dmodot, one of India’s most promising handcrafted luxury footwear brands, proudly announces that its Founder and CEO Abhishek Sharma has been selected as one of 14 visionary fashion entrepreneurs to feature in the highly anticipated Hotstar Specials series Pitch to Get Rich, premiering October 20 on JioHotstar.
Produced by Dharmatic Entertainment in collaboration with the Fashion Entrepreneur Fund (FEF), the show promises to be India’s most glamorous yet intellectually stimulating entrepreneurial reality series. With an impressive ₹40-crore investment pool, Pitch to Get Rich brings together Bollywood’s biggest names and India’s brightest business minds, offering fashion founders the opportunity to secure funding, mentorship, and nationwide visibility.
The judging panel features industry icons Karan Johar, Akshay Kumar, Manish Malhotra, and Malaika Arora, who will mentor and evaluate participants across eight episodes. Together, they will assess how creativity, strategy, and scalability merge to shape the future of Indian fashion entrepreneurship.
Representing the essence of India’s Quiet Luxury movement, Abhishek Sharma, Founder and CEO of dmodot, brings a story rooted in craftsmanship, authenticity, and lasting value.
Born and brought up in Agra, Abhishek’s journey began not in a design studio but in an engineering classroom. A graduate of PICT, Pune, after completing his engineering did not take the conventional path and ventured into the world of handcrafted footwear with a vision to merge India’s artisanal heritage with modern minimalism. What started in a small Delhi workshop in 2016 has grown into a brand that celebrates timeless craftsmanship and conscious luxury.
Under his leadership, dmodot has evolved into a symbol of understated sophistication — blending traditional Indian shoemaking artistry with contemporary global design sensibilities. From classic loafers and mules to inclusive big-size collections (sizes 39–50), the brand reflects Abhishek’s belief that true luxury lies in simplicity, quality, and purpose.
When he’s not steering dmodot’s growth, Abhishek enjoys playing golf, reading, and working on self-development, pursuits that mirror his philosophy of balance, discipline, and continuous growth.
“Being selected for Pitch to Get Rich is a validation of the long hours, the craftsmanship, and the belief that Indian-made luxury deserves center stage,” says Abhishek Sharma, Founder & CEO, dmodot. “We’re not pitching just shoes — we’re pitching a philosophy: quiet elegance, inclusive design, and craftsmanship that carries the soul of India.”
