India’s push towards strengthening infrastructure, manufacturing and textile-led industrial growth received a major boost as Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for multiple projects worth nearly Rs 9,400 crore in Telangana. The projects, spanning highways, railways, logistics and textiles, are aimed at accelerating connectivity and positioning Telangana as a major industrial and manufacturing hub.
The programme, held at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC), was attended by Telangana Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, Union Minister G Kishan Reddy and several senior dignitaries.
Among the key infrastructure projects announced was the four-laning of National Highway-167 between Gudebellur and Mahabubnagar under the Hyderabad–Panaji Economic Corridor project. The Prime Minister also laid the foundation stone for the development of the Zaheerabad Industrial Area in Sangareddy district.
Further strengthening transport and logistics infrastructure, PM Modi flagged off various railway and logistics projects, including sections of the Kazipet–Vijayawada rail multi-tracking corridor, the Kazipet Rail Under Rail Bypass and a new Greenfield Petroleum, Oil and Lubricants (POL) terminal in Hyderabad.
A major highlight of the event was the inauguration of the PM MITRA Park in Warangal, also referred to as the Kakatiya Mega Textile Park. Developed at an estimated investment of around Rs 1,700 crore, the facility becomes India’s first fully operational PM MITRA Park and is expected to create a fully integrated textile ecosystem aligned with the Centre’s “5F” vision — Farm, Fibre, Factory, Fashion and Foreign Markets.
Addressing the gathering, Prime Minister Modi said that India’s textile sector, which once played a defining role in the country’s economic growth, is now being prepared for a new phase of expansion and global competitiveness.
