Indian couturier Gaurav Gupta is set to open the house’s first permanent Paris showroom on 5 October 2026, marking a significant step in the brand’s evolution and its growing presence within the international couture landscape.
Located at 6 Rue Jean Goujon in Paris’s 8th arrondissement, within the city’s Golden Triangle, the new showroom is intended to provide the house with a permanent home in Paris beyond the limited periods of Couture Week.
For Gaurav Gupta, Paris has been closely connected with the evolution of the house. His association with the city dates back to the early years of his career, when the French capital represented the centre of global fashion history and couture. The house subsequently began presenting during Paris Haute Couture Week, returning across successive seasons and gradually developing a deeper relationship with the city’s fashion community.
The presentation of Shunya in 2023 further strengthened that connection and led to the vision of establishing a permanent address in Paris. The new showroom represents the culmination of that ambition, creating a space where the house’s couture can be presented, experienced and developed throughout the year.
Spread across 300 square metres, the showroom is housed within a 1930 building designed by French architect Charles Lemaresquier. The space retains the architectural character of the historic building while incorporating elements of Gaurav Gupta’s design language. Indian craftsmanship, artworks and furniture designed by Gupta have been brought into the interiors, creating a dialogue between the building’s French architectural identity and the house’s Indian creative expression.
The new Couture Salon will be led by Jean-Paul Cornut, who brings more than a decade of experience in Parisian Haute Couture. His previous experience includes serving as Haute Couture Director at Elie Saab. Cornut’s expertise will support the establishment and development of the salon as the house’s permanent couture base in Paris.
The permanent showroom is also intended to create a more intimate relationship between the house, its clients and its couture. Rather than limiting interaction to the few days surrounding fashion week, the space will allow the team to spend more time with the garments, clients and creative conversations that inform the development of couture pieces.
For Gaurav Gupta, the Paris address also represents a broader milestone for Indian couture. The house has spent recent years building a presence for Indian creativity within the global couture conversation, and the establishment of a permanent space signals a longer-term commitment to that process.
The showroom reflects the progression of the house’s Paris journey—from presenting collections during Couture Week and developing relationships within the city to establishing a permanent space where its work can continue to evolve.
With the opening of the new showroom, Gaurav Gupta is set to deepen its engagement with the Paris couture ecosystem while creating a dedicated platform for its continued international development.
