Trident Limited is set to significantly enhance its manufacturing capabilities with a ₹4,650-crore investment programme covering its yarn, sheeting, paper and renewable energy businesses. Approved by the company’s board on November 2, 2026, the planned projects will be implemented in phases, with completion timelines ranging from December 2027 to September 2029. The investments will be funded through a combination of internal accruals and debt.
The largest allocation of ₹1,660 crore has been earmarked for setting up a new yarn manufacturing facility at Dhar in Madhya Pradesh. The proposed facility will have an installed capacity of 1,99,680 spindles and is expected to be completed by September 30, 2029. Trident has already acquired 179.2 acres of leasehold land for the project at an approximate cost of ₹106.09 crore.
The company will also invest ₹1,022 crore in the expansion and modernisation of its existing yarn facility at Budhni, Madhya Pradesh, with completion targeted by December 31, 2027. The project will involve adding 99,840 spindles, replacing 48,000 older spindles with 70,176 new spindles to manufacture finer-count yarns, and upgrading 960 older rotors with 2,400 new rotors.
Trident’s existing yarn operations across Sanghera in Punjab and Budhni in Madhya Pradesh currently have a combined capacity of 7,46,064 spindles, 5,424 rotors and 320 air-jets. Capacity utilisation at the Budhni facility stands at 94%.
In its sheeting business, the company has allocated ₹1,018 crore towards adding 336 looms, increasing the total loom capacity from 504 to 840. The expansion is scheduled for completion by January 31, 2028. The investment comes against a reported capacity utilisation level of 58% in the existing sheeting operations.
The paper business will receive an investment of ₹296 crore to increase production capacity by 28 tonnes per day, taking the total manufacturing capacity from 479 to 507 tonnes per day. The project is expected to be completed by March 31, 2028. Trident’s existing paper capacity utilisation currently stands at 81%.
Additionally, ₹654 crore has been earmarked for a hybrid renewable energy project comprising 60 MW of wind power and 20 MW of solar power on an AC basis. The project is targeted for completion by October 31, 2028. It is expected to support the company’s sustainability initiatives and improve energy efficiency, complementing its existing solar capacity of 57.3 MW DC peak.
Through this multi-business investment programme, Trident aims to expand its manufacturing footprint, modernise existing spinning infrastructure, enhance production capacities and strengthen access to renewable energy. The planned investments are expected to reinforce the company’s operational capabilities and market position while supporting its presence in domestic and international markets.
