Emami's domestic business recorded 43 per cent volume growth in the second quarter of FY27, supporting a 49 per cent increase in domestic revenue. The company's consolidated revenue from operations rose 36 per cent year-on-year to Rs 1,088 crore during the quarter, while like-to-like revenue growth stood at 24 per cent.
On a like-to-like basis, domestic revenue increased 32 per cent, with volumes growing 26 per cent. The difference between reported and like-to-like growth reflects the impact of changes in the business portfolio.
Among its product categories, Emami's Skin Care business registered 31 per cent growth, driven by BoroPlus and its talcum powder portfolio. Hair and Scalp Care revenue increased 30 per cent, supported by Navratna Cool Oils and 7 Oils in One. Health Care grew 11 per cent, led by its pain management products.
The company's Strategic Investments portfolio recorded 73 per cent like-to-like growth and contributed around 26 per cent of domestic business during the quarter.
Emami expanded its product portfolio with the introduction of the FromMaa baby care range under BoroPlus and the Kesh King Scalp First range. Both launches are being distributed through modern trade and e-commerce channels.
Organised channels accounted for 37 per cent of domestic business, while quick commerce contributed around 15 per cent of the company's total digital sales.
International business revenue declined 2 per cent during the quarter. Excluding Nepal and Iraq, however, the segment recorded 6 per cent growth. Emami attributed the overall decline to disruptions in certain overseas markets and said it had taken steps across logistics, pricing and cost management to address supply-chain challenges.
On the profitability front, earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) increased 25 per cent to Rs 222 crore. Profit before tax (PBT) grew 29 per cent to Rs 194 crore. However, profit after tax (PAT) declined 3 per cent to Rs 144 crore, primarily due to the normalisation of the effective tax rate following the phase-out of fiscal benefits.
For the first half of FY27, consolidated revenue increased 25 per cent to Rs 2,127 crore. EBITDA rose 14 per cent to Rs 449 crore, while PBT grew 15 per cent to Rs 388 crore.
Separately, the company completed a share buyback worth Rs 281.24 crore. Its board also approved an interim dividend of Rs 5 per share.
Emami said it continued to invest in product innovation, artificial intelligence-enabled capabilities and operational improvements. These include Project SETU and SalesCode.AI, initiatives aimed at improving sales planning and execution.
