Anita Dongre has launched her latest collection, Vaana, a graceful celebration of nature and the craftsmanship rooted in India’s rich heritage. The name Vaana — meaning “forest” or “grove” in Sanskrit — reflects the essence of the collection: a tribute to the serene beauty and quiet strength of the natural world.
Drawing inspiration from flowing rivers, lush foliage, and the whispers of the wind, Vaana brings forth garments that embody fluidity, softness, and harmony. The pieces feature delicate hand embroidery, pastel hues, and exquisite hand-painted pichhwai motifs — each creation designed to feel like poetry in motion.
The launch was celebrated at Anita Dongre’s headquarters in Rabale, Navi Mumbai, nestled amid nature. Members of the press, media, and creator community were invited for an exclusive preview, where they experienced a behind-the-scenes tour of the design process, followed by a thoughtfully curated luncheon and an intimate showcase of the making of Vaana.
Staying true to the designer’s ethos, Vaana integrates age-old techniques and craftsmanship from across India — including bandhani and gota-patti from Rajasthan, jamdani weaves from Bengal, and detailed work by artisans from Maharashtra. The collection is not just a visual treat but a sincere tribute to the traditions and the artisans who bring them to life.
In perfect alignment with the collection’s message of mindful luxury, the Anita Dongre HQ mirrors the same values — surrounded by greenery, home to rescued pets, and built on a culture of creativity, leisure, and sustainability.
Vaana is not just a collection to be worn — it is designed to be experienced, evoking a deep connection between the wearer, tradition, and nature.
