Dr. Mukesh Kansal, Chairman of CTA Apparels, has extended strong support for the Government of India’s recent initiative to establish a Task Force on Textiles Exports. The first meeting of the task force was held under the chairmanship of Commerce Secretary Shri Sunil Barthwal and marks a significant step toward strengthening India’s position in the global textile and apparel export market.
Calling the task force “a timely and commendable initiative,” Dr. Kansal praised the government’s leadership in bringing together key stakeholders to build a unified platform for addressing the sector’s most pressing challenges. He highlighted that the wide-ranging agenda — spanning ESG infrastructure, renewable energy, regulatory simplification, e-commerce, skilling, and MSME support — reflects a comprehensive and future-ready approach to the evolving demands of global markets.
“What stands out is the government’s intent to transform the sector through collaborative governance and actionable policy pathways,” said Dr. Kansal. “The decision to form issue-specific sub-task forces is particularly welcome, as it enables targeted, results-driven solutions.”
Dr. Kansal noted that CTA Apparels views this initiative as a critical opportunity to align industry aspirations with India’s national export ambitions. With the government setting an ambitious target of USD 100 billion in textile and apparel exports, and advancing toward its Viksit Bharat Vision 2047, industry participation will be key in realizing these milestones.
“As a responsible player in this sector, CTA Apparels is proud to contribute to this journey and reaffirms its commitment to sustainability, competitiveness, and excellence in Indian textiles,” he concluded.
The meeting of the task force is expected to lead to the formation of sub-task forces focused on specific policy and operational bottlenecks, signaling a new phase of strategic collaboration between the government and textile industry stakeholders.
